About E-script - Online playwriting courses and workshops

Since 1995, E-script has brought scriptwriters from around the world together with top professionals in unique online courses and workshops. Recently we’ve re-focused on playwriting, and providing services and mentoring to writers who want to create great work for theatre.

E-script’s online playwriting courses and workshops

Whether you want to learn the craft of playwriting, or hone your skills, in one of our online courses, or receive ongoing professional feedback as you work on your play in an online workshop, E-script is ready to provide expert instruction and guidance. Our faculty are all professionally-produced playwrights with significant production credits who’ve learned by doing. They’ve also been chosen for their skills and backgrounds as mentors and dramaturgs (story editors for theatre), as well as their ability to work with other writers.

And because all work is done one-on-one, they’ll be able to tailor your course or workshop to you. Feedback is focused on where you are on your learning journey, or on the needs of your play. And because the work is “asynchronous,” meaning you don’t have to be online at any particular time, you can do it at your convenience (though our courses and workshops do provide a structure and series of deadlines intended to keep you moving forward).

We’ll also do our best to inspire you! Whatever your level of experience, we’re here to help you get that script done, find your feet as a playwright, or take the next big step.

E-script was founded and is run by Frank Moher, an internationally-produced playwright, university instructor, and longtime script development expert. When you sign up for one of our courses or workshops, you’ll also be given free, exclusive access to Scriptology, Frank’s series of nine online video tutorials, created for his university classes, covering the essentials of dramatic writing.
